With the recent economic downturn, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are likely to have access to a larger pool of talent to choose from and need not be drawn into protracted negotiations on salaries and compensation benefits. While the recruitment process becomes much easier, organizations in difficult times will be pressed with other issues to achieve sustainable growth. They will have to ensure that their entire workforce is able to adapt quickly to structural changes within the organization to stay competitive, is swiftly equipped with new skill sets to generate more sales and are able to address and manage cost issues better.

Very often, the HR department is tasked to champion these initiatives together the business heads. It is not an easy feat. The HR department will need to have the right capabilities, mind-set to initiative organizational change and motivate employees to meet higher targets; new technologies and tools may need to be harnessed to streamline workflows so that time can be better spent in meeting these organizational objectives.

To facilitate an information sharing session on initiatives and new technologies available to enhance HR capabilities, the PAT team has assembled a panel of experts including a senior representative from Singapore National Employer’s Federation to a deliver a half-day seminar tailored for SMEs in the following areas:

  1. Leveraging on a diverse workforce.
  2. Best practices on recruiting and retaining talent.
  3. Streamlining HR workflows. Is outsourcing really a cost-effective alternative?

The session will provide greater insights on grants and subsidies available to SMEs to extend their HR capabilities, best practices on talent management, the benefits of installing a sound and effective performance management system and latest trends with respect to streamlining workflows and the viability of best-sourcing administrative HR functions.
