Getting Started

Refer to this section to familiarize yourself with the PAT interface, settings, how to log in, and log off from the system.

To access PAT, the user can use any of the following browsers:

• Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher and

• Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or higher

Make sure that the following settings are enabled for both browsers.

Display Settings

The PAT system is best viewed at 1024 * 768.

To enable display settings:

1. Go to Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >>Display.

    

2. Click on Settings and change the Desktop/Screen Area.

Browser Settings

To configure browser settings:

Internet Explorer

1. Click Tools >> Internet Options.

2. On the Internet Options window, click Settings.

3. On the Temporary Internet Files section, click Settings.

4. On the Settings Window, select the 'Every visit to the page' option. If the amount of disk space is < 200 MB, update to 200 MB. Click OK to close the Settings window.

    

5. On the Internet Options window, click the Security tab and then click Custom Level.

6. In the Security Settings window, go to Scripting and select Enable.

7. In the Security Settings window, go to Microsoft VM and select Medium Safety.

8. Click OK to close the Security Settings, and then click OK again to close Internet Options window.

9. Click Tools > Internet Options > Advanced. Scroll all the way down.

Under the Java VM section, make sure that option 3 is selected. Option 3 refers to JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled (requires restart).

10. In your Internet Explorer, click Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Turn Off Pop-up Blocker to completely turn off your Pop-up Blocker.

OR

Click Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Pop-up Blocker Settings.

11. Enter pat.com.sg and then click Add to disable the Pop-up Blocker for the PAT website.

12. Click Close to close the Pop-up Blocker Settings window.

Mozilla Firefox

1. Click Tools > Options.

2. On the Options Window, click Advanced and then the Network tab.

3. Clear the cache on a regular basis by clicking Clear Now to ensure that the page viewed is up-to-date.
    

4. On the Options Window, click Content. Mark the Enable JavaScript and Enable Java checkboxes.

5. Unmark the Block pop-up windows option to completely turn off your Pop-up Blocker. Please refer to above screenshot.

OR

Mark the Block pop-up windows option and then click on Exceptions.

Enter pat.com.sg and then click Allow to disable the Pop-up Blocker for the PAT website.

6. Click Close to close the Pop-up Blocker Settings and then click OK again to close the Options Window.
